New!       New Requirements for All Monitoring Visits       New!

 

New rules require that the Research Office be informed of all monitoring visits by pharmaceutical companies or Contract Research Organizations as soon as possible.  The CRO or study monitor must sign in as a visitor at the Research Office before the visit.  See  "Notifying the Research Office of Audits and Site Visits"  for more details. 

 

 

Protocol Submissions at the Miami VA

     Procedures for submitting new protocol applications, and the reporting requirements after a study begins vary, depending on the nature of the proposed research.  Go to the appropriate page for additional information about protocol applications involving Animal Research,  Human Studies Research,  Laboratory Safety  and  Merit Review.  Please check frequently - updates are posted often.

Protocol Submission Deadlines

All research activities conducted at the Miami VA Medical Center must receive review and approval from the Research and Development (R&D) Committee.

 In addition, research activities may require review by one or more the Subcommittees of the R&D Committee.  As a result, all research proposals submitted for review must meet the following submission deadlines:

Please note:  most submission deadlines are on the Wednesday two weeks before the Human Studies Subcommittee meeting date.  However, these deadlines are subject to change.

 

Please verify the next meeting date and submission deadline with the Research Administration Office at  extension 4462  if approval timeline is critical, as changes in this schedule may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.

 

Submissions that are not complete will not be processed!
