Description of Research Expertise Research Interests Post-traumatic stress disorder – pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment interventions, comorbidity, sleep disturbances Anxiety disorders – panic, phobias Coping with stress Key Words PTSD, anxiety, panic, pharmacotherapy, meditation, relaxation Research description Dr. David is a clinical investigator who has had an interest in anxiety, trauma and PTSD since she completed her fellowship in anxiety disorders research at the University of Miami, under the mentorship of Dr. Thomas Mellman. She has published in the areas of anxiety, panic, sleep disturbances, PTSD and pharmacological treatment, and has presented on these topics at national and international meetings. She has been a P.I., co-P.I., and site P.I. on several funded pharmacological treatment projects for chronic PTSD, and is currently involved in a non-pharmacological treatment trial for PTSD based on meditation techniques. Dr. David has been a member of the VA Undersecretary for Health’s committee on PTSD treatment, a consultant to the U.S. Military, Southern Command for the training of the Argentinean Military Health Providers in the diagnosis and treatment of PTSD, and is a current member of the VA/DOD workgroup revising the PTSD Clinical Practice Guidelines.
